For me, searching for swimsuits has never been an easy task. Candidly, even when I was younger and thinner, I was still self-conscious whenever my body was on display.
Because of these feelings, I’ve become somewhat of an expert on the illustrious one-piece swimsuit — and I’ve identified a few things to look out for when searching for the perfect one. For starters, it’s important to remember that just because it stays up when it’s dry, doesn’t mean it won’t wilt to your toes the second it comes in contact with water. Then, you definitely need to make sure you feel supported while still being able to breathe. This may sound like a given, but it’s definitely not always the case.
My most recent swimsuit search was for a one-piece to wear on my summer vacation to Cabo San Lucas. The hotel I would be staying at is stunning, so I wanted something that met the tone. That said, I was also excited to nosh and nibble my way through the day, so I wanted a matching cover-up that I could wear while sauntering through poolside restaurants, without feeling like I was flashing fellow diners. Why I like this swimsuit
It feels "buttery soft"
Glancing at the product online, I was a little nervous because of all the available style and color options crammed into one product listing. Also, I worried that its $37 price tag was too modest to account for both a decent swimsuit and a cover-up.
When it arrived, all of my worries were completely assuaged. Right out of the packaging, the material felt like the perfect combination of buttery softness and stretchable support. This was absolutely proven once I put it on.

The cuts of both the front and the back of the swimsuit offer modest coverage, making it the perfect choice if you’re looking for something for a family beach day. The chest also includes soft cups that offer the ideal amount of coverage. While they’re removable, they stay in place thanks to sturdy stitching on the inside lining that’s completely invisible from the outside of the suit.
It maintains its shape — wet or dry
I was initially a little worried about the fluttery fabric on the straps, as I thought it might get twisted and look odd. To my surprise, the fabric stayed in place and ended up adding the perfect dainty flourish to the suit. The straps are also adjustable and thick enough to hold everything in place. They even held their shape when the suit was wet!
As for the bodice of the suit, I found it to be perfectly snug without being too tight — and it maintained this perfect fit even out of the pool. I didn’t have to pull at the edges or bottoms as I was making my way up the pool steps and over to my beach chair. After lounging in the sun for a few minutes, the suit dried super quickly.
The sarong covered beautifully from the waist down and left a little slit that created the perfect tropical-but-glam look. It is made of a very breathable, light fabric (that also dried super quickly) and offers slightly translucent coverage.
When worn together, the bathing suit and cover-up could almost pass as a sundress, making them the perfect choice if you’re looking for something you can quickly toss-on and run inside a hotel or into a restaurant. I’m definitely pleased with my purchase; don’t be surprised if you see me snapping photos in a couple of different colorways in the near future.
