Don't get me wrong, I love a trend. But there are very few times when I actually click into a targeted social media post and buy the product they're promoting. Lately, though, it seemed like I couldn't scroll through my Instagram feed without seeing reels of these cute wide-leg pants from Halara. However, I'm trying to be a frugal girl at the moment, so I always have to stop and think about whether I need something versus if I just want it.
After weeks of internal debate and being taunted by these Halara High-Waisted work pants, I decided I needed them.

Why I tried the Halara High-Waisted Work Pants
I'm not sure how to define my style, but I gravitate towards anything that is versatile and timeless, and of course, comfortable. These pants have that trendy wide leg and high-waisted silhouette that tends to look good on anyone. Also, I thought they could be perfect for a variety of occasions, including for work, errands and even traveling. The amount of colorways they come in is impressive, too — 24 to be exact.
Normally, I wear a lot black but I've been really trying to introduce more color in my wardrobe, so I opted for the Deep Aquamarine for spring and they showed up exactly as pictured.
Why I like the Halara High-Waisted Work Pants
They're the most comfortable pants
It was love at first ... wear. These pants are so comfortable, that it doesn't feel like you're wearing tailored pants. In fact, it feels like you're wearing your most comfortable pajama bottoms. The fabric feels like butter against your skin, and they're extremely stretchy. The brand says they're made of 21% elastane, and honestly, I don't think I've ever encountered that much quality stretch.
I wore them to work a couple of times: The first time with a long-sleeved white shirt and New Balance sneakers, and the second was with a knitted top and flats. The stretch of the fabric was so comfortable when it came to sitting at my desk all day. Normally, I change into my "comfy" pants immediately when I get home from work, but I found myself staying in these going about my post-work routine.

Anytime I wear them, I get showered with compliments, too. Many of my colleagues will even recognize the viral pants and say: "Wait, are those the Halara pants?"
They do well in the laundry and don't wrinkle
Another notable mention about these pants is that they don't wrinkle, which I appreciate as someone who spends most of their day sitting at a computer. I've washed them a couple of times since owning them, and I was impressed with how well they held up in the washing machine, too. I live in an apartment with communal machines, and if you're familiar, you know that those are rarely gentle. However, I haven't tried putting them through the dryer; I like to hang dry my pants to avoid shrinking.
What to consider
- Think twice about sizing. Before you order, you should carefully read the sizing chart — these pants run big. I'd pay close attention to the numbers rather than the letter sizing and go by that. I'm normally a two, and the small was too big for me, so I had to go with the extra small (which was noted on the site in the first place!).
- The pants have three different lengths, too. I'm 5-foot-4-inches, so I teeter between regular and petite lengths, depending on the brand. I took a risk and opted for the regular, and it fit perfectly for my height. They were on the longer side, but I could still wear flats with them.

Style and size: Sepia, size small and petite length
After seeing everyone rave about these pants, senior partnerships editor Francesca Cocchi Zabloudil says she was excited to try these pants and opted for the trendy brown color, Sepia.

"These pants are flattering, thanks to the wide-leg silhouette and well-placed pleats below the waistband. I appreciate that they look great with or without a belt. The material has a subtle brushed texture that makes it super soft to the touch. I've worn these pants to the office multiple times and to after-work events, so they're comfortable for many hours of wear," says Cocchi Zabloudil. "My only note is that the length is a little tricky. I'm 5-foot-2-inches, so I sometimes wear petites and sometimes regular depending on the item and reviews. Since I heard these pants run a bit long, I went with the petite length. The length is perfect for flats, but a bit shorter than I like with sneakers or other shoes that have a heel or platform. I'd probably go with the regular length next time for more versatility in terms of the shoes I can pair them with."
Kelly Vaughan, recipe editor
Size and style: Midnight Blue, size medium, regular length
"I was admittedly a little skeptical of this brand that has gone totally viral on TikTok — but I was pleasantly surprised by the fit and quality of these popular work pants. I found them true to size — I'm 5-foot-6 and wear a size six, so I ordered a medium regular, which fit perfectly," says commerce recipe editor Kelly Vaughan. "They have the look of a traditional business-appropriate work pant with the comfort and ease of, dare I say, yoga pants."

Jess Bender, senior SEO editor
Size and style: Dusky Evening Purple, size large and regular length
“I’m not one to lean into corporate core — corpcore? — attire for work, but I’ve officially given in to the hype around Halara’s work trousers after hearing all kinds of raves from my colleagues,” says senior editor Jess Bender.

Bender opted for the regular length, which she said worked well with mules or sneakers, however, she notes that there could be length issues if you have shorter legs.
“I was a little dubious about how they were going to fit on me, considering they looked a little small coming out of the packaging, but the STRETCH! The large was very accommodating to my 12/14 frame in the waist area, plus there was plenty of room around the thighs for ample comfort throughout the day.”
