Inside the office, trousers and tees are what I swear by. But once I'm home, I live in athleisure any chance I get.

Like many people, I need my athletic attire to be equally practical, comfortable and stylish both inside and outside the gym. Not all athletic brands fit within my ideal budget, though.

Now, you might've heard about Quince already — the brand is all over our social feeds. Some products have gone viral and some have even been featured on our very own show. No matter what has been trending, Quince has remained consistent with providing quality basics at an attainable price — and now they officially have an activewear line, too.

When I realized they had cozy joggers, leggings and fitted tanks available, the Shop TODAY team had to try some out. Keep reading to discover our picks and how we rated them.

How we tried Quince's activewear line

Quince's activewear collection ranges from workout shorts to jumpsuits, all of which are either designed for running, low-impact workouts (such as pilates, yoga), training or simply for the athleisure. Each item is considered comparable to high end counterparts, according to the brand and online users. For instance, underneath each item is a chart that compares the performance and material to luxury brands.

The brand's activewear line ranges between $30 to $60, with options for both men and women. Their leggings and joggers have been all the rage, though, so our team picked out their favorite pairs from the lot to see if Quince's comfort claims were true. The brand offers most, if not all, types of athletic bottoms for no more than $45, which played a role in our decision.

All of the bottoms we chose were designed for low-impact activities, but we tested them casually and through various workouts to see if the quality aligned with what's promised.

What we like

Flowknit High-Rise Boyfriend Jogger

Who tried it? Madison San Miguel, editorial assistant

Style and size: Heather green, large

I'm big on using joggers for working out because I don't want to run the risk of lifting the waistband of my leggings. Some joggers are a bit too thick for intense exercise, especially during the warmer months, but these are incredibly breezy. I loved that even when I was sweating, they weren't sticking to my body awkwardly (the brand says they're moisture-wicking and quick-drying, which is a common feature in their activewear/athleisure, as you'll read below). My favorite feature, though, is the hidden waistband — you can adjust them to your liking, and tuck the tie away!

When it comes to sizing, I have a bigger behind, so I often size up in leggings and joggers for more room in the rear. But since these joggers are described as a 'boyfriend' fit — which typically has a looser fit — sizing up was a mistake for me. The large didn't look frumpy, but I'd stick with your usual size or size down for a slimmer fit.

If you're petite, fortunately these weren't too long on my 5'3" frame. If you're on the taller side, I believe there is still enough length for no odd ankle exposure.

Ultra-Form High-Rise Pocket Legging

Who tried it? Shannon Garlin, associate editor

Style and size: Black, small with 25” inseam

“This was one of my first items from this brand and I didn’t know what to expect from these leggings, but I was pleasantly surprised with their comfort, stretch and compression,” says Garlin, who adds that they compare well to its more expensive counterparts. “This option even has a side pocket which is nice to put your phone in during walks or doing chores around the house.”

Since they have low compression, these leggings are best recommended for low-impact workouts, such as yoga. But the leggings also boast quick-drying, moisture-wicking, anti-microbial and four-way stretch features for everyday comfort.

Ultra-Form High-Rise Flared Pant

Who tried it? Dani Musacchio, associate social media editor

Style and size: Forest green, small with 31” inseam

"When I took [these leggings] out of the packaging, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the material," raves Musacchio. "It feels buttery soft and is thick, yet lightweight. The waistband is very high rise, resting a few inches above my belly button, which I personally like. The material is also super stretchy and not constricting at all."

Although they're considered yoga pants (the brand recommends the leggings for low-impact workouts) Musacchio wore the leggings during a five-mile run and said they passed her "sweat test." "Luckily, these pants kept me feeling dry during the entire run — no embarrassing sweat stains in sight," she adds, but says they're good for everyday wear, too.

Ultra-Soft Cropped Bootcut Pant

Who tried it? Annie Shigo, social media editorial assistant

Style and size: Heather navy, extra-large

Like the pairs above, Quince's Ultra-Soft Cropped Bootcut Pant also has the same performance-driven features for a conscious-free workout. "They did not ride down when I was doing floor exercises at the gym, and did not shrink in the wash," Shigo mentions. "The fabric is really buttery smooth, [and] they feel a lot more expensive than their price tag."

For those who are petite, Shigo (who is approximately 5'4" in height) adds that she found the cropped length "perfect" and that it "fell above the ankle."

What to consider

  • There are little to no inseam options for most of the activewear bottoms. "I am around 5’5" and the 28” inseam was a little too short for me, as I prefer the flare to hit the bottom of my ankle," says Musacchio. "While I wish that there was an inseam option between 28” and 31”, the 31” ended up being a much better length for me."
  • Other editors said their pair hit right at the ankle, so some styles might be too short if you're tall. Thus, before ordering, be sure to check your inseam length for the best fit.

Who is Quince's activewear line best for?

While all of the leggings and joggers our editors tested were for low impact exercises, we found each pair suitable for all workouts. Whether you're into yoga or are an avid runner, this line is suitable for every kind of fitness enthusiast — and at under $50, it fits all budgets, too.

Ultra-Form Active Dress

You don't need to sacrifice style when you're working out. Case in point: This chic active dress. It's cute and practical enough for low impact workouts, errands and everything in-between.

Performance Tech Wide Leg Pants

"These pants are lightweight, true to size and super comfortable. I can wear them to work in a business casual environment, running errands, or lounging around the house," boasts editor Kelly Vaughan. "I’m usually a size six, and the medium fit perfectly. The only downside is that they hit about mid-calf on me (I’m 5’6") and would have liked just a little extra length."
