Ingredients

  • 1 cup raspberry jam
  • 8 slice brioche bread
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoon instant dissolving sugar
  • 1/4 cup orange liquor
  • 4 cup eggs
  • 4 tablespoon melted butter

Preparation

Baking Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Then:1. Spread a thin layer of jam on each slice of bread and with 2 slices of bread each, form sandwiches with the jam on the inside.

  2. In a bowl, combine cream, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, orange liquor and eggs.

3.

Dip sandwiches into batter and soak briefly.

  4. Over medium heat, place a non-stick skillet and melt a tablespoon of the butter.

5.

Cook the sandwiches in batches, cooking on both sides until golden, adding more butter to the pan for each batch.

  6. Place sandwiches on a baking sheet and into the oven for 3-4 minutes to allow the batter to cook and the interior to heat.

7.

Cut the finished French toast into 2 diagonal pieces, place on a platter and dust with powdered sugar.

Serve with syrup and crème fraîche.
