Brunch to beach
“It’s so easy to style this gorgeous one piece from Miraclesuit because it looks like an elegant bodysuit,” explains Caldwell. “The wrapping details are beautiful, the sheer cutouts offer subtle sass and the sweetheart neckline offers just enough coverage. Additionally, Miraclesuit is known for its supportive and silhouette-shaping Maritex fabric.”
Shop additional sizes:
“We dressed this up with a figure-hugging skirt with a high slit on one side,” Caldwell adds. “This is for the gal who is going to a chic brunch in Manhattan, then off to the Hamptons for the weekend... or something similar!”
Bust support
“If you want extra support from your swimsuit, I highly recommend wearing bra-sized swimsuits,” Caldwell says. “Go to your local real bra fitting shop to get expert help finding the best style and size for your bra-sized bathing suits — there are one pieces, bikinis, tankinis and more, and fit is key for feeling confident and comfortable!”
To complete your look, grab the matching bottoms. Caldwell notes that their coverage is adjustable, so you can decide how much to show.
“We added this sarong by Panache for fun, but Panache is also another great bra-sized swimsuit company with excellent supportive options for small bands and full busts,” Caldwell notes.
Editor’s note: Caldwell’s original pick is currently out of stock, but we found a similar popular option you can still shop below:
Don’t forget your sandals! These feature an elevated T-strap design that stays put with every step.
No beach outfit is complete without a good tote to hold all of the essentials. This open-top straw option is current on sale at Gap.
Sun protection
“While standard summer clothing often provides a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) of less than 10, UPF 50+ swimwear blocks over 98% of the sun’s radiation, functioning much better than sunscreen because it requires no reapplication,” Caldwell reports.
She suggests wearing this swim dress for a morning dip, sunset cruise and every activity in between. You can cinch up the side ties to wear it as a tunic, or just let out the drawstrings if you want a longer length.
For additional coverage, Caldwell recommends pairing your swim dress with these sun-protective leggings.
Caldwell also suggests adding in this reversible, SPF-coated hat for extra safety in the sun. It’s tan on one side and blue on the other, essentially giving you two looks in one.
Sport to swim
“In a suit like this, you can sweat it out on the pickleball court, then dip into the pool, hot tub or lake without having to change,” Caldwell says. “I love the built-in bottom and adjustable straps for a great fit.”
Caldwell calls these recovery flip-flops from Oka-B “so squishy and cozy.” They’re meant to aid in foot recovery, 100% recyclable and made in the USA.
Sunglasses are a must-have for any sunny beach or pool day. Caldwell likes these, which feature a wide, oversized look to keep you covered.
Stash your sunscreen, towel, beach read and more in this Caldwell-approved crochet tote.

Ultimate Summer Swim Guide seen on TODAY
Teleties Small Flat Round Clip
We previously enlisted the help of on-air fashion expert and stylist Jasmine Snow to bring you our ultimate summer swim guide, a complete shopping list full of editor-loved swimsuits, Travel Awards winners and more.
Snow calls these flat hair clips “genius for the beach or pool.” Unlike a classic claw clip, this option lies flat against your head, allowing you to lean back comfortably and keep your hair back. “It’s a great way to keep your hair out of your face on hot days and still look stylish,” says Snow.

This cover-up is a one-and-done, throw-and-go mini dress that you can wear from pool to table side. It has a slightly sheer fabric that’s breezy and lightweight, and Snow says it has that “effortless resort vibe” at an affordable price.
Snow raves about tankinis for their great coverage, while still having the mobility of a two-piece. This option is another Shop TODAY favorite for its tummy-control design. The bottoms feature stylish ruching for a sculpted look, and the flowy top complements the silhouette. Plus, we love how many patterns and color options it comes in — over 20!

If you have a fear (or experience) of dropping your valuables into the water, then you’ll want these waterproof belt bags for the season. According to the brand, the triple seal keeps out water and sand, and is even touchscreen-friendly (except the black one, per the brand). Plus, you’ll get two for $15!
This all-around Shop TODAY-favorite brand (and Travel Award winner) is loved for its compression fabric, which offers a sculpted fit. The Perfect Wrap One Piece is a bestseller for Summersalt that Snow says flatters every body type and "highlights all the right curves in the right places."
Editor's note: The Summersalt bathing suit is eligible for exchange only, not returns.

These men's swim trunks come in three inseam lengths, not too short or too long. According to the brand, the material is quick-to-dry and sunscreen- and oil-resistant. Snow notes that they "easily double as everyday casual shorts," which is great for everything from barbecue to pool and beach days.
Shop TODAY named this the "best sun shirt" in the 2026 Shop TODAY Travel Awards. The UPF shirt provides an extra layer of sun protection and breathable fabric that's perfect for outdoor and water activities. The brand offers the style for both men and women.

More summer swim essentials to shop
A simple pair of flip-flops is a must-have for the pool. This affordable option is only $4 and comes in neutral colorways to match your favorite swimsuits.
This waterproof pouch keeps your phone handy and safe. According to the brand, it has a triple lock seal and a touch-friendly screen that's perfect for beach days, cruises and water activities.
If your towels constantly slip and slide down the rubbery chairs at waterparks, strap them into place with one of Travel Awards-winning towel bands, which stretch to fit over most beach chairs, according to the brand.
Plus, it comes with a storage pouch to make them easy to pack for any beach vacation or cruise.
“It’s deceptively spacious — fits towels, snacks, water bottles, sunscreen, even toys for the kids,” says Snow.
Score this award-winning coverup while it's 75% off. It's lightweight and provides full coverage to take you from the sun to lunch.
It’s everything he knows and loves in a traditional baseball cap, but with a breathable backing that dispels heat while golfing, at the beach or spending time outside.
Snow calls this cap an elevated basic, saying it’s “more polished, but just as easy to wear.”

A roll-on applicator makes this sunscreen mess-free and easy to apply. It’s also TSA-approved, stowing away easily in a toiletry bag for any upcoming summer vacation.
Snow calls Sun Bum’s signature scent “vacation in a bottle,” noting that it’s “coconutty, warm and nostalgic,” unlike others that have a more chemical fragrance.
Our Shop TODAY tester of these award-winning hybrid swim shorts said they could feel the cooling effects on their legs, thanks to the moisture-wicking fabric.
This versatile tote bag can be easily packed in luggage, under your car seat, or tucked in a closet when not in use. It's perfect to stow towels and other beach essentials for sunny days, then neatly store it during off-season.
Snow dubbed this the “it” cover-up of the summer, saying it “gives a boho-chic vibe that instantly elevates any swimsuit look.” This one is available in a range of colors — white if you’re celebrating on a bachelorette beach vacation, solids if you want a fun swimsuit to peek through underneath, or stripes for completing a coastal grandma fit.
If you're looking for a full coverage suit, this award-winning swim dress is modest and supportive. It comes in over 20 colors and patterns to choose from, with some styles on sale for under $30.
“Even though they don’t appear to have any arch support, the memory foam-like footbed makes them surprisingly comfortable to walk around in — especially for shorter distances," says associate editor Lauren Witonsky.
A mesh fabric surrounding the torso and one shoulder strap help this swimsuit look flattering, while features such as removable padding and tummy control near the waist help it to remain dependable.

You don’t have to sacrifice style for a full coverage fit, according to Snow. This swim dress has built-in bottoms and a tie skirt that sits over top, giving it a “vintage glam” look, says Snow.
Ruffle sleeves and a plunging V-neck help add to its more fashionable features, without compromising on coverage.
With over 33,000 ratings on Amazon, it's easy to see why this one-piece is well-loved. Snow says it provides a "chic, wrapped look that flatters every body." It's also currently less than $40, which helps give it a "designer look" on a budget, according to Snow.

The winner of "best two-piece swimsuit," this "midkini" gives you all the coverage of a one-piece but with the ease and style of a bikini. Right now, you can grab it on sale for 61% off!
Snow says these swim trunks can be worn to brunch and the beach without missing a step. They have a boxer-brief lining that helps them remain comfortable and chafe-free, while a drawstring elastic waist ensures you can adjust them for a preferred fit.
This one-piece by Vineyard Vines is a bestseller for a reason. The silhouette is flattering, the fabric has the perfect amount of stretch and compression, and the bottom coverage hits at the perfect angle. Plus, it comes in sizes up to 3XL, so you'll be sure to find your perfect fit.
