You’re probably not cleaning your dryer vent as often or as thoroughly as you should. We found a $10 tool that attaches to most vacuums to deeply clean those nooks and crannies and get out some serious lint.
“You’ll be amazed at how much it gets out,” Brach swears. “And you can also use it to clean random hard-to-reach areas like under and behind the water heater, stove, fridge and more.”
If the changing temperatures tend to leave your skin feeling dry, it’s likely a good idea to change up your skin care routine. Brach says this tried-and-true brand has been in the skin care industry since 1921 and that “skin food” is their hero line. The body lotion is formulated with glycerin, shea butter, rosemary leaf extract and other ingredients that the brand says help to nourish dry skin without the greasy feel.
The “ultra-rich” formula is made for “very dry and rough skin,” according to Weleda. It can be used anywhere on your body to moisturize your skin and can even be used as a makeup primer, the brand says. Brach adds that she likes to keep this version in her bag and applies it to areas where she’s prone to redness.
French beauty had a resurgence in popularity over the summer and Brach says the trend is going strong into the fall. We’re loving this eyeliner from Lancôme, which Brach says is “everything you could ask for in a liner” — a creamy gel tip that glides on easily, nine rich shades that stay put all day, and a waterproof formula for zero smudges. Plus, it has a built-in smudger at the opposite end for blending, making it an easy hack for a one-product smoky eye.
Looking for a more permanent lighting option as daylight savings time draws closer? These lights can be installed underneath metal cabinets with the attached magnets or to wood via adhesive strips. They’re motion-activated and rechargeable, thanks to a USB-C charging port.
“As someone with low night vision, I appreciate any extra lighting I can get,” says Brach. “You can use this to brighten up any areas that need a little extra light — in closets, hallways or even stairs around the house... my in-laws have it in their staircase and love it!”
Looking for a no-brainer shoe to step into this season? Brach loves these booties, which she believes go with everything. They boast an easy-to-walk-in chunky heel, smart back zipper, more than two dozen color options and whole and half sizes 5-11, so there’s an option for just about everyone. Brach notes that some reviewers recommend going up a half size if you plan on wearing these with thicker socks.

From there, we reviewed everything based on efficacy of the product claims, size-inclusivity, stock and ease of use to come up with our 12 contenders.
