Once the weather drops below 60 degrees, you'll find me in the coziest attire, usually a variation of leggings and a sweater. However, as much as I love feeling my most comfortable, I do like to look a little put together, even when my plans only consist of curling up on my couch with a book.

That's why when I shop for clothing items, I look for products that can be declared "closet staples" and worn for various occasions — or what I like to call "couch-to-errand attire." As I was mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, I kept seeing half-zip pullovers pop up all over the fashion girls' accounts and knew I needed one too. I guess you could say I was influenced.

Why I tried it

With my job, I (very luckily) get the opportunity to try out different fashion pieces, so when this Automet Half Zip Pullover popped up in conversation, I immediately raised my hand. I have a couple of items from Automet, including this plaid shacket, so I knew I could expect a high-quality and comfortable item from the brand. Being a neutrals girl, I chose the coffee grey color, and since it arrived on my doorstep, I haven't taken it off.

Why I like it

It's trendy and versatile for a "sweatshirt"

What caught my eye first was the on-trend style that features a half zipper and foldable turtleneck. It has a crop design that hits right at the hip bone, so it looks cute with different bottoms, too. I paired it mostly with leggings for cozy purposes and still felt chic, even though I was basically wearing sweats. Since the style is more elevated, I also found that it looked nice with a pair of jeans. I could honestly even get away with wearing this sweatshirt to work by dressing it up with slacks and loafers.

Normally, I am a size S in tops, but when I shop for sweatshirts, I like them to fit a little bigger, so I always opt for a size or two up. For this style, I went with the medium and found that it was a good choice; it was slightly oversized without looking frumpy.

The fabric is high-quality and comfortable

I'm not lying when I said I haven't taken this sweatshirt off. It's so comfortable that it became my new work-from-home uniform. According to the brand, this pullover is 50% polyester and 50% cotton, which feels extremely soft and cozy against my skin.

It's also fleece-lined to help keep you warm, and though the fabric is sturdy, it doesn't feel bulky, which means you could easily layer a coat over it for added warmth. Another key feature that I like is that the sleeves have thumbholes! These will definitely get a lot of use and help keep my hands warm during the colder months.

What to consider

While the fabric is very nice, I did find that it wrinkles easily, especially if you're lying down or have your arms bent for a long period. That's when I noticed creases form on the sleeves. And if you're like me, I absolutely do not want to iron or steam my cozy wear.

However, the amount of wrinkles is probably a testament to how much I've worn this pullover, meaning I think I need to stock up on more colors for the winter season.
