Hot pear and ginger cider

    • 1 quart pear nectar
    • 2 cinnamon sticks
    • 2 star anise
    • One 1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and sliced
    • Peel of an orange, pith removed
    • Sliced Bosc and Bartlett pears for garnish


In a large pot bring everything except the pear slices to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes, reduce heat to low for 20 minutes longer. Strain and ladle into mugs and garnish with sliced pears.
