Chef notes

You cake your own cinnamon rolls and shape them into hearts, but we're cheating our way to cuteness by using store-bought dough. Bake them all huggy huggy in a pie dish or in sheet pan to hold that heart shape even better.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough with icing
  • Pink or red food coloring
  • Candy sprinkles, if desired

Preparation

Pre-heat oven to 400°. Use a non-stick cookie sheet or line yours with cooking parchment paper.

Remove dough from the can and separate into 8 rolls. Set the icing aside. Gently unroll each dough spiral using a knife. Re-roll your dough from both ends simultaneously until your ends meet in center. Pinch the bottoms together into a point to form a heart shape and place on your cookie sheet.

Bake until golden brown, about 8 minutes, and cool for a half hour.

Place a couple drops of food color into your icing and stir. Place icing in a re-sealable plastic bag. Seal bag and snip off one bottom corner of bag. Pipe icing onto each cinnamon roll and top with sprinkles.
