    Jeff Sessions hits back in statement after criticism from Trump

    Attorney General Jeff Sessions has fired back at President Trump after the president made a jab at Sessions earlier this week, telling Fox News that Sessions “never took control of the Justice Department.” The attorney general issued a statement Thursday, saying in part, “I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in.” NBC’s Kristen Welker reports for TODAY.Aug. 24, 2018
