Finally, I found a skin tint that doesn't settle into fine lines or become patchy

As I get older, I realize that I’ve become pickier (choosier?) when it comes to what I put on my face. Especially when it comes to choosing a makeup base. Honestly, I’ve always had issues finding a foundation that wasn’t too orange, pale, or dark. I’m fair olive with red undertones, so I need to find a neutral-toned base.

Some full-coverage foundations feel heavy or sticky after a few hours, and some medium- to light-coverage makeup bases are so sheer that wearing them doesn’t make sense. I thought I was looking for a unicorn, and then I discovered the L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint.

Why I like L'Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Skin Tint

I want a foundation that matches my skin tone and evens out my complexion—I have light hyperpigmentation on my nose. I also have maturing skin with fine lines and don’t want a product that settles into them or makes them appear huge.

I want to look like myself, but I also want to look like I have healthy eating habits (I eat like a toddler) and get eight hours of sleep every night. Basically, I want to look like me, just a tad better.

Why I like L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Tint

The first thing I noticed when I pumped the foundation on my hand was that it didn’t have a discernible scent. Because I have sensitive skin, a fragrance doesn’t work for me. This skin tint has a water base, making it incredibly light on my face. The formula contains niacinamide and an 82% hydrating serum. According to the brand, it also has “reflective pearls and blurring pigments.” You don’t need much to cover your entire face.

I tried applying it to my face using my fingers, a makeup sponge, and a foundation/base brush. No matter how you apply it, the result always looks good. Once on, I feel as if I’m not wearing anything. My complexion looks healthy with a hint of a glow. I found that I can wear it solo (without any other makeup on), with light makeup for the classic “no-makeup makeup” look, and for a slightly glam look.

I tried it with a few moisturizers that I am currently testing out. It worked well with any combination of serum and moisturizer that I tried with it.

There’s more than one way to wear it

I like to experiment with makeup. I’m curious and will try various combinations of highlighters, concealers and glow tints with different foundations. I do have a makeup base that is a perfect match for my skin. Unfortunately, because it’s a matte finish, my complexion looks flat.

One day, I applied the Lumi Le Glow Tint to my face and let it dry. Then, I used the matte base. What a difference! The L’Oreal Paris product worked as a combination of a glow tint and primer. The result was a matte foundation with a touch of radiance. I’ve also used it as a highlighter.

I noticed that no matter what type of product I use with it (a powder blush, cream blush, concealer, another foundation —you get the idea!), the L’Oreal Paris Lumi Le Glow Tint plays well with other products. It’s never pilled, slid off, disappeared, or become patchy.

What to consider

As for blurring fine lines, I haven’t noticed a considerable change. I know I have fine lines, especially around my eyes. I laugh a lot, so those lines show my sense of humor.

However, the product's versatility sets it apart. I love how it makes my complexion look healthy, glowy, and ever so slightly rosy. I can pat this on after staying up late the night before, and until I start yawning, no one would think I didn’t get enough rest.
