Chef notes
This is my go-to recipe for sipping in the backyard on a summer day. It's light, refreshing and has a kick from the jalapeños, which surprisingly pairs perfectly with floral and fruity rosé.
Technique tip: If you want extra spice, you can muddle more jalapeño in the bottom of your glass before you add the rest of the ingredients. For a more mild drink, add fewer slices here or forego the muddling altogether. You can also make pitchers of these ahead of time for a party and wait to add the sparkling water right before serving.
Swap option: Use your favorite rosé or white wine. You can omit the jalapeños if you don't like spice.
Ingredients
- 1-2 jalapeños, thinly sliced
- ice
- 1 (750-milliliter) bottle dry rosé, chilled
- 8 lime wedges
- 1 (16-ounce) bottle sparkling water
Preparation
1.Muddle some jalapeño slices in the glass for extra spice (optional).
2.Add ice to each glass.
3.Pour 3 ounces of rosé into each glass, add a squeeze of lime and top off with a splash of sparkling water.
4.Garnish with 2 or 3 jalapeño slices and serve.
