I love cosmos in any way, shape or form, especially around the holidays. This is a strong one, so you may want to dilute it with a touch of pineapple or let it settle in the ice. But remember it is a martini and if you drink too many you will be saying "martooni!" Make sure you have a big pitcher on hand to make this drink, it's much easier to make batch cocktails if you're serving a few people.
Technique Tip: Add pineapple juice to sweeten or dilute the alcohol.
Swap Option: Use gin if you run out of vodka.
Ingredients
- 4 cups ice, cubed or crushed
- 3 cups vodka
- 2¼ cups cranberry juice
- 1 cup and 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
- 1 cup and 2 tablespoons lime juice
Preparation
To make a party pitcher:
1.Put ice in your pitcher.
2.Pour in all ingredients.
3.Stir to mix thoroughly.
4.Strain over ice in a rocks glass or into a chilled martini glass.
5.Garnish with a citrus wheel or lemon twist.
6.Enjoy responsibly!
To make a single serving:
1.Stir or shake 2 shots of vodka (4 tablespoons), 3 tablespoons cranberry juice, 1 ½ tablespoons orange liqueur and 1 ½ tablespoons lime juice until mixed thoroughly.
2.Strain over ice into a rocks glass or a chilled martini glass.
3.Garnish glass with a citrus wheel or twist.
