Ingredients
- 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup
- 10 sprig fresh mint leaves
- 2 1/2 ounce light rum
Preparation
Baking Directions:
To create simple syrup, mix equal parts of sugar and water in a saucepan and heat until just before boiling until sugar has completely dissolved.
Remove from heat and refrigerate.
Use cooled syrup for your mojitos.
Put simple syrup, mint leaves and a splash of club soda in a glass.
Using a pestle or the back of a wooden spoon, muddle (mash) the mint leaves against the side of the glass releasing the fresh mint aroma.
Cut lime in half.
Squeeze both halves into glass and put one half in glass as well.
Add rum and stir.
Fill glass with ice and top with a bit more club soda.
Stir and garnish with a mint leaf.
