Time Released Its Best Inventions of 2026 — These Shop TODAY Editor Favorites Made the Cut

Meet the 18 products that curb doomscrolling, reduce hair thinning and more.

Time’s Best Inventions of 2026 list has officially landed. With a roster spanning 300 innovations, Time’s crop spotlights the creations that actively make the world “better, smarter and more fun.”

As a team that tests products and monitors the latest launches for a living, our editors eagerly await the list’s publication each October, both to discover new inventions across industries we’re less familiar with (hello, regrowing knee joints and reimagining recycling!) and to validate our own savvy shopping skills in the categories we routinely cover. Across toys, consumer electronics, beauty, fashion and more, we can always count on seeing overlap with products we’ve independently tested. This year, we’ve once again noted quite a few finds on the list that have already earned Shop TODAY’s seal of approval.

To peruse the full roster, you’ll have to head to Time’s site. But to make finding your next go-to a little easier, we rounded up all of our favorite products from the list that Shop TODAY editors have personally tried and love, which you can shop below.

Thames & Kosmos Golden Sunrise SolarFlower

Thames & Kosmos’ 114-piece SolarFlower kit impressed our editors so much, that it previously earned a spot on our inaugural Best Toy Awards list — so it’s no surprise it landed on Time’s Best Inventions list, too. The solar-powered toy spins as long as the sun shines on it and teaches kids (and adults!) about engineering while offering a fun, hands-on building activity.

Dough Dissolve

Our editors first found Dough Dissolve through Better Homes & Gardens’ Clean House Awards this spring. The innovative product changes the game for home bakers, who know how hard it can be to clean off sticky dough and flour paste post-bake. Using enzymes to break down dough and starch, Dough Dissolve actually dissolves residue on utensils and dishes, leaving nothing behind to scrape or potentially clog your drain.

Aora México Acaríciame Solid Lip Serum

Born in vibrant Mexico City, Aora launched with a portfolio of products that boast bold color ranges and 100% recyclable packaging, becoming the first and only entirely plastic-free brand sold at Sephora. In addition to the rainbow-hued eyeshadow palette, the solid lip serum quickly became a personal favorite, depositing color like my go-to lipstick, but with twice the shine and hydration.

Loop Experience 2

“Unlike the Quiet, these earplugs have a noise reduction rating of 17 decibels, which preserves your sound experience while also reducing any excess noise pollution,” reports editor Shannon Garlin. “I had the chance to try these out during Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter show and was impressed. The earplugs helped drown out the cheers and noise around me, but I could still hear her perfectly.”

Brick

In the year 2026, we’re probably all guilty of spending too much time on our phones. Enter: Brick, a physical cube that blocks the time-sucking apps of your choosing temporarily when you tap your phone to it. Once you’re ready to reengage with the apps you’ve blocked, simply tap your phone to it again and you’ll regain access.

“I have mine on my fridge, and my husband and I will tap it when we get home from work so that we can be really present with each other,” senior editor Julie Ricevuto first raved back in January. “But it’s great for families... you can have everyone Brick their phone during dinner or while your teen is doing homework.”

Lego Smart Play: Luke's Red Five X-Wing

Perhaps the tiniest new invention we tried and loved this year, Lego recently introduced a rechargeable brick that, when placed inside compatible Lego toys, brings the builds to life through lights and noises tailored to those toys. The technology is called “Smart Play” and is currently available across sets themed around popular franchises Pokémon and Star Wars.

Tin Can

For Gen Alpha and their parents, landlines are officially cool again. Equipped with parental controls around contacts and calling hours, Tin Can forgoes screens and algorithms to give young chatterboxes a safer way to keep in touch with their friends and family.

Superfeet ME3D Personalized Insoles

Created from a 3D scan of your feet, these insoles are custom-fit to your exact needs, promising greater comfort in any sneaker you put them in. According to the brand, you can use your phone to complete the scan, but Fleet Feet also offers the service for free in-store with an experienced outfitter. Shop TODAY contributor Melissa Garcia had her feet sized on Fleet Feet’s custom machine at a previous Stages event, and she appreciates that the new technology allows for even greater personalization.

K18 FutureIQ Biomimetic Scalp Serum

“As much as I love my job, there are periods where my stress contributes to increased hair shedding,” admits deputy managing editor Jess Bender, who tested K18’s new scalp serum designed to address damage, shedding and graying in one formula. “The dropper clearly indicates how much to use, which is more than enough to coat my temples, sides and main scalp areas with the amount recommended. It absorbs quickly, moisturizes dry patches near instantly and doesn’t leave any residue behind, which is much better than other similar products I’ve tested. Best of all, I’ve noticed less shedding in my brush and in the shower starting a week after incorporating this into my routine! While I can’t do a dramatic slow-motion hair flip like Cindy Crawford with her gorgeous tresses yet, at least the dream is marginally more reasonable now.”

Stickerbox

Meet Stickerbox, the viral toy even adults want to get their hands on right now. To use, just press the button, tell the box your idea, and it will print whatever you want on a sticker right away. The brand says it uses kid-safe AI to generate designs, blocking inappropriate or unsafe prompts, so every idea stays fun, friendly and age-appropriate. It prints in black and white (perfect for coloring in with crayons, markers or pencils later) using thermal printing, so you’ll never need ink refills.

The Nori Cloud Max

“This steamer truly exceeded my expectations during testing,” writer Jannely Espinal previously raved about the Nori Cloud Max. “This new iteration of the Nori Cloud features an anti-spit technology to help eliminate leaks and water spots. According to the brand, it can heat up as fast as 25 seconds and offers up to 20 minutes of uninterrupted garment care. It easily released wrinkles while the suction feature held the fabric against the steaming plate, making it easier to smooth out stubborn creases.”

“I’ve found that you can maneuver the steamer in any direction without leaving water spots behind,” Espinal adds. “Plus, dual steam and suction settings allow it to effectively remove tough creases in silk and cotton.”

Coleman Snap 'N Go Collapsible Hard Cooler

Available in three sizes, Coleman’s innovation is the world’s first collapsible cooler, flattening to save space when not in use. In fact, it can fold down to half of its original size. That’s not to say it skimps on the cooler space at all — the smallest 35-quart option can hold up to 64 cans at its full size, per the brand.

“It’s great for all the beach trips, tailgates, camping, RV travel or small spaces,” executive editor Adrianna Brach previously vouched.

Skylight Buddy

Senior production manager Becca Delman has been putting the Skylight Buddy to the test in her household with three kids under the age of six. The device helps little ones keep track of chores, sleep and wake-up times and more, and it’s all easy for parents to manage from anywhere, whether you pair it with the original Skylight Calendar or use it solo.

Skaura Body Shaving Kit

“Rarely do we see a product we use on a regular basis have a massive glow-up and the razor has just been updated in a way you didn’t know you’d love,” briefs editor Vivien Moon. “Making it accessible for more people with various levels of grip strength and mobility, the Skaura One launched in January and has two options (face and body) for razors that are chic and unisex, making them not only easy to use, but beautiful to set up in your bathroom. Truly such an ingenious update to the essential we all use so often.”

Garmin Cirqa Smart Band

Our resident wearable fitness tracker expert, writer Emma Stessman, is currently embroiled in long-term testing of the Garmin Cirqa for a future review story. Ricevuto also owns the device and is eager to voice praise for the innovative design.

“I love my Garmin Cirqa,” Ricevuto enthuses. “I love that the band is super comfortable on my wrist since it’s fabric rather than silicone, and I love that it doesn’t have a screen since I’m trying to decrease the amount of screens I use.”

Marshall Stockwell III Portable Bluetooth Speaker

A personal favorite of mine from Time’s list, Marshall’s newest portable speaker looks really, really good — and, somehow, it sounds even better. The Stockwell III improves upon previous iterations and delivers up to 40 hours of playtime (that’s about 800 songs, per the brand) on a single charge, projecting sound from multiple directions on its small-but-mighty frame. My friends and I threw a 30-person party a couple of months back with one of these as the sole source of sound, and the tunes were pumping loud all night long (apologies to my neighbors!). Did I mention that it can even double as a power bank to charge your phone in a pinch?

Ninja Slushi Twist Slushie Machine

Just about any two liquids can be turned into a slushie with Ninja’s new machine, which allows you to make a couple of different frozen drinks in a single session, dispensed one at a time or combined in a satisfying twist. We’ve used this appliance to churn out delicious juice freezes, blended iced coffee treats, soda slushies and more icy beverages. We found that it makes more than ten servings at a time, when portioned into eight-ounce vessels.

Vestaboard Note

Selling over 25,000 units in the last few months, the Vestaboard Note offers a new way to connect and communicate in everyday spaces, per the brand. The board has 2,880 spinning flaps that rotate to display messages, upcoming calendar events, the weather and whatever else you’d like to showcase. It’s set to restock in November.
