The experts at Good Housekeeping Institute's Textiles Lab have tested hundreds of items for your nighttime routine — from sheets and pillows to mattresses and blankets — for durability, performance, washability and craftsmanship. In addition to lab equipment, the team also tapped more than 600 sleepers over the course of five months to test factors including comfort, support, ease of use and more.
Lexie Sachs, executive director of the Good Housekeeping Institute, stopped by the 3rd hour of TODAY to share a look at six of the 2025 Best Bedding Awards. Some of the winners you'll find include cooling cotton sheets, adjustable pillows and other top-rated bedding essentials.

If you're looking for the Goldie Locks of comforters, sleep testers said this one was just the right weight, not too heavy or too light. Sachs also mentions that it was very quiet as some comforter materials can crinkly when you move, but she says this one stayed silent.

"Our sleep tester gave it perfect scores across the board, noting that it was both contouring and supportive," mentions Sachs. "She even said it alleviated her shoulder and back pain."

"Testers say it really feels like one solid pillow and you don’t feel the individual pods," explains Sachs. "But they do like that you can shift the pods around to give you support where you need it for alignment."
