Chef notes

Sometimes it's hard to decide between a cocktail or dessert. With an espresso martini, you can have both. But beware, the combo of caffeine and alcohol is a strong one so just stick to a single serving.

Technique tip: Shake vigorously to chill the cocktail.

Swap option: Use simple syrup instead of sweetened condensed milk.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) freshly brewed espresso, chilled
  • ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur, preferably Kahlúa
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk

Preparation

1.

In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, vigorously shake the espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur and sweetened condensed milk until frothy, about 15 to 20 seconds.

2.

Strain the cocktail into a martini glass and serve immediately.
