>> details on a story we first told you about on monday. an alleged confrontation between nigella lawson and her husband. london police are getting involved this morning but critics are asking if their actions go far enough. michelle is in london with the latest on this. good morning.

>> reporter: hey. we have seen these pictures, nigella lawson and her husband charles saatchi arguing at a restaurant in which he appears to grab her throat several times and now she is given an explanation that sparked more outrage among some because he called it a playful tip. he said they were having a intense debate about their children and he was making a point and not gripping their throat. a number of psychologists and women's groups are saying they don't buy it. that's common rationizations for abusive behavior. that on it's face is an assault. police agreed. they had saatchi go to a police station where he accepted a caution for assault meaning you admit to the offense though it's not a conviction.

>>> all right. michelle in london, thank you very much.
