As a mom and a remote worker, I get to dress for the job I have and the job I want, and unsurprisingly, loungewear is what I reach for the most. So, while I'm in back-to-school clothes shopping mode for my soon-to-be kindergartener, I thought I would search for new yoga pants to add to my collection.
When I stumbled across the Ododos Yoga Capris during a late-night Amazon scroll session, I was immediately impressed by the dozens of colors and patterns offered, as well as the depth in sizing options. However, the features that really rang my bell were the high-waist design, the tummy-control detailing and the deep saddle pockets.
As someone with a high waist, who is five years postpartum and has an iPhone Pro Max with a habit of jumping out of pockets and onto floors, these seemed like the perfect pair to try.

Why I like the yoga capris
The color options are endless
With over 58 colors available, I could literally grab a pair to match nearly everything in my wardrobe if I wanted. In the end, I opted for Ash Violet, because I thought it was the most versatile shade for my wardrobe.
This waistband isn't going anywhere
The fabric is smooth and soft, but don’t mistake that for flimsy. I felt secure, but never constrained, which is a tricky line to straddle for pants. I was also deeply appreciative of the tummy-controlling high waistband and how I didn’t have to constantly pull or tug to keep it up or prevent it from rolling over.
There's tons of stretch and security
The pants also delivered on the promise of four-way stretch. I felt comfortable and secure with every twist and bend. And don't worry, they're squat proof, too.
As someone who is attached to their phone both personally and professionally, you can imagine why the deep side pockets were a huge win for me. I felt really confident that my phone was in a safe place, and that a cracked screen wasn’t going to be a part of my day.
Normally, with yoga pants, shorts and even skorts, the bulk and weight of my phone always seems to be too much for any garment to support. Thankfully, that's not the case with these capris.
What to consider
The size chart is accurate
Be sure to measure yourself by height or weight before ordering. I found the size chart offered on the product page to be really helpful and pretty darn accurate.
It comes in two length options!
The Ododos Yoga Capris come in both calf and knee lengths. I opted for the calf length, but perhaps should have gone with the latter. Having been blessed with what my mom lovingly calls “stick legs,” I noticed the calf length hung a bit baggy on my legs, whereas I think the knee length would have been a bit more fitted in that area.
At this point in my postpartum journey, I am most comfortable wearing these capris with a flowy top or an oversized sweatshirt, but I can definitely see a world where I may one day feel comfortable (and cute!) wearing them with a tucked-in tank.
