Chef notes
Much like the path to his current job, Lester Holt's sandwich on "COLD CUTS with Al Roker" is unpredictable and out of the ordinary. Using a large pretzel roll as his base, the sandwich only gets quirkier, with a few sprouts (for health!) and an exorbitant amount of melty Brie cheese (because why not?!).
Ingredients
- Pretzel roll
- Turkey
- Bacon
- Dijon mustard
- Brie cheese
- Caramelized onions
- Pickles
- Tomatoes
- Sprouts
- Avocado
Preparation
Cut a pretzel roll in half, then pile it high with turkey and bacon.
Slather Dijon mustard on the top half of the bun, then add Brie (the more, the better!), caramelized onions, pickles and sliced tomato. Top it with the bun.
Heat a pan to medium-high heat and add a little butter until it starts to melt. Add the sandwich into the pan, flipping once after about 5 to 7 minutes, to desired doneness. Add some additional avocado and sprouts to the sandwich before serving.
