Blake Lively is one of the few celebrities that fashionistas can't wait to see make an appearance at the Met Gala every year.

Ever since she was first invited to fashion's biggest night in 2008, the "Gossip Girl" alum has been making heads turns with her stylish interpretations of the themes.

In 2022, she had the honor of being one of four co-hosts who oversaw the annual event and its "Gilded Glamour" theme, along with husband Ryan Reynolds, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Regina King. Lively channeled the Statue of Liberty and wowed in a Versace gown that featured a hidden reveal, arguably her most daring look so far.

Fans have been waiting for two years to see how she will top the look -- in 2023 the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" star skipped the event. A few days before the 2023 Met Gala, Lively spoke to reporters at the grand re-opening of the Tiffany & Co. Fifth Avenue in New York City and confirmed she would not walk the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that year.

When asked if fans should expect to see her in attendance, she replied, “You will not,” per People.

“But I will be watching,” she added.

She joked that she planned to spend the evening wearing her 2022 look on her couch. On the night of the gala, Lively, who welcomed her fourth child with Reynolds in February 2023, shared a silly selfie of her in the bathroom and added animated stickers of breast milk to her chest. "First Monday in May," the proud mom wrote in the caption.

Her 2022 dress was placed in the “Crown to Couture” exhibition at Kensington Palace in London. In July 2023, she visited the display and shared a funny photo on her Instagram story of her fixing the dress so it looked as picture-perfect as the time she wore it.

This year, the Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 6. The dress code will be "The Garden of Time," according to Vogue, in honor of a new exhibition at the museum's Costume Institute called "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth will step into the roles as co-hosts for the evening.

So will Lively make her grand return at the 2024 Met Gala? We'll find out soon. Until then, take a look back at all her elegant looks throughout the years.
