Hoka Sneakers, Owala Water Bottles and More Winners From the First Ever WeightWatchers Awards

The inaugural awards recognize standout products that support weight management.

WeightWatchers is entering a new era. The brand, which has been a leader in weight-management programs for more than 60 years, today announced the launch of the first ever WeightWatchers Awards, recognizing 38 products across categories such as movement, nutrition and meal prep.

For our What to Shop This Week series, WeightWatchers Chief Nutrition Officer and registered dietitian Dr. Michelle Cardel stopped by TODAY to share some standouts from the winners' list.

From healthy snacks to fitness tools, meal prep essentials and more, the first ever WeightWatchers Awards were given to products that support weight management, according to a press release. Products were reviewed by a panel of six judges, including Cardel, WeightWatchers Food Director Sherry Rujikarn and Fitness Director Dr. Justin Kompf.

The brand also leveraged data from the WeightWatchers app while devising the list of products to consider. Take the snack category, for example. The judges considered the most-tracked food items in the WeightWatchers app over the course of a year. To choose a standout high-protein bar, they considered factors like nutritional quality, availability, taste and affordability, and RXBar's Chocolate Sea Salt protein bar took home the trophy. Other categories were evaluated using criteria such as durability, performance and ease of use, resulting in a winning non-slip yoga mat, supportive walking sneakers and more.

Pyrex Freshlock 10-piece Meal Prep Glass Storage Set

Let’s be honest — we all have that mismatched stack of stained, lidless plastic containers in the back of the pantry. It’s time to upgrade, and Cardel says that meal prepping has never been easier than with these Pyrex containers. They are made of BPA-free glass, come in a variety of shapes, sizes and bundles, feature lockable leak-proof lids and are safe to go in the dishwasher, microwave and freezer (just not the oven). One judge remarked that they not only passed the drop test without shattering or splattering liquid-y foods, but they also have a spot to label contents with a dry erase marker. No more freezer mysteries on your hands in a few weeks!

Owala FreeSip Sway

Hydration is so important, and finding a water bottle that works for you can make a world of a difference in your daily consumption. Social media influencers have declared Owala’s FreeSip Sway the new “it” water bottle, and Cardel agrees. For starters, it has a truly leak-proof design with no risk of spillage and fits in most cup holders (from your car to the gym). Judges also loved that you had the option to drink from a straw or a wide mouth so you can sip or swig. And finally, the two-in-one drinking spout is fully covered by the lid instead of always sticking out and collecting germs — just pop the lockable cap open to hydrate!

Hoka Clifton 10

With their extra-chunky bottoms and bold colors, Hokas are the maximalist-style sneakers are that super on trend right now. The plush soles were a hit with runners and walkers, leading one judge to rave that they felt like stepping on a cloud. Cardel says they’re not only super comfortable for exercise, but also cute enough to wear out to coffee or shopping. Plus, they’re available in both regular or wide widths.

KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper

Whether you consider yourself a home chef or are just looking to make time spent in the kitchen a little easier, this food processor earned its stars by being super intuitive to use. The side slider feature lets you choose between a rough chop or a fine purée — perfect for turning tomatoes into anything from chunky salsa to smooth marinara. There’s also a built-in drizzle basin which makes it easy to whip up fresh dressings right in the bowl! As you’d expect from a KitchenAid product, judges noted it looks nicer on the counter than most other kitchen appliances, and comes in fun colors like pistachio green, bright red and pale blue. Prefer to tuck it away? Cardel says its compact size and built-in cord wrap make storage easy.

RXBar Chocolate Sea Salt (12 Pack)

Many people are trying to eat more protein these days, and ideally getting it from whole foods whenever possible. That said, Cardel knows you’re probably not tossing a hardboiled egg into your tote bag — and that’s where RXBar comes in. Many people find protein bars gritty and unappealing, but that’s not the case with this Chocolate Sea Salt flavor that’s made of just a few simple ingredients (listed right on the front of the package). Between the rich, chocolatey taste and the 12 grams of protein per bar, judges were reaching for them long after the evaluation period ended.

On Cloud 6 Men's Sneakers

Don’t think that we forgot about the guys! If you’re looking for superior comfort, cushioning and stability, judges agreed that running brand On takes the cake for the best men’s sneakers. Style-wise, Cardel mentions that this upgraded version of the Cloud 6 is sleek, versatile and goes with just about everything.

Luga Eco-Friendly Non Slip TPE Yoga Mat

Looking for a yoga mat that offers the best of both words? This pick is on the slimmer side, making it easy to roll up and tote to a yoga or pilates class, while still offering enough padding to cushion your knees — even on a tile floor. Both sides are coated in what Cardel calls "stay-put, won't slide" material, and judges appreciated this feature for especially sweaty workouts. Not to mention it's stylish too, with a different color on either side. And, if you're grossed out by gym floor germs, you can designate one color for working out on and the other for touching the ground.
