Courteney Cox has been dazzling pop culture for decades. Her professional acting career has spanned across mediums throughout her career, from her time dancing in a Bruce Springsteen video to her role as investigative reporter Gale Weathers in the "Scream" franchise to her six seasons on the cult classic comedy "Cougar Town." Most notably, though, her iconic role as Monica Geller on the hit television show "Friends" continues to inspire and resonate with audiences.

Monica Geller is known for being confident, strong, Type A and — based on how organized and tip-top her apartment was in every episode — neurotically clean. As it turns out, the quirky character is not too different from the actress that plays her. “You know, Monica had her characteristics, but I definitely think they added that part in because I’m very organized,” Cox shared in a phone interview with Shop TODAY editorial director Adrianna Brach, referencing their similar cleaning habits. (The actress even went out of her way to tidy up her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year!)

When comparing their personalities, Cox also emphasizes she is “not as competitive as [Monica] is” but that she is “definitely clean."

When asked about her favorite cleaning hacks, she shared a surprising (and easy to implement) way of approaching one area of the home. "One of the hacks I use is — and I hope this isn’t too personal — I put dish soap in my toilet and use it as a toilet bowl cleaner." Cox explained that this hack "makes the bathroom smell so good."

My outlook for everything as I get older is less is more. I would rather have three great things [than] 25 kinda good.

And as somebody synonymous with cleaning and a tidy home, it’s only natural that Cox ventured into the home goods space with the launch of her home care brand Homecourt. A combination of her love for design and fresh fragrances, she saw an opportunity to create cleaning products and other home essentials like candles and odor neutralizers that “fit in the beauty category.”

Ahead of the busy holiday season, we asked Cox to share some of her favorite products, from affordable drugstore beauty items to luxurious candles. She even gave us her favorite moisturizer product that she "loves" to use.

Shopping Diaries: Courteney Cox

Homecourt Cece Surface Cleaner

Cece Surface Cleaner

Removing dirt, grease and smudges, this gorgeously packaged surface cleaner will have you wanting to clean in your sleep, just like Monica Geller! This cleaner is a concentrated spray available in six different scents and leaves counters spotless.

“I’ve always been a very specific person — quality over quantity,” explains Cox. And this quality product can be used for a lot more surfaces than you think — aside from surfaces like finished wood, tile and stainless steel, Cox noted that it also works well on drywall ceilings!

Homecourt Cocomoi Body Wash

Cocomoi Body Wash

This body wash, made with organic rosella botanical extract and upcycled sugar beet extract, is a quintessential purchase for your bathroom.

The best products are created with a personal touch. Cox tells Shop TODAY that she drew inspiration for Homecourt's signature scent from a person in her home — more specifically, her daughter Coco Arquette.

“The notes are coconut, water [and] cedar wood, which is a big thing that Cece has in it,” Cox says about the wash’s scent. Cox also “loves the smell of pepper,” so she made sure to add it into the fragrance’s notes.

The scent Cocomoi is a creative vision that Cox and Arquette designed, in a way, through their collaboration. While she selected the scent’s notes, the team “followed [Arquette's] Pinterest board 1000%.” The vision board became perfect for the visual direction of the scent.

“I’m so proud of it,” she says about Homecourt‘s signature fragrance.

Homecourt Cece Hand Cream

This hand cream uses shea butter to soften and hydrate even the driest skin. It can be used through out the day and reapplied as needed.

While coconut is a base for the scent, she emphasized that this is not another cliché summer fragrance. “I didn’t want it to smell like a sunscreen. I want it to be something you can wear all year round,” Cox explains.

Arquette, like herself, loves the ocean. “It reminds me of [Arquette]. It has all of her layered personality,” Cox says in regards to the inspiration drawn from her daughter to design the fragrance.

Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50 Face Moisturizer

Cox recommends this face moisturizer as a "favorite" for when the the sun comes out. From her style to beauty routine to everyday life, she explains her product philosophy around quality vs. quantity: “My outlook for everything as I get older is less is more. I would rather have three great things [than] 25 kinda good."

Acting as the perfect daily moisturizer, this product also acts as sun protection with broad spectrum SPF 50.

Shiseido Eyelash Curler

What is a good mascara without the perfect eyelash curler?

Cox says that this sleek eyelash curler is "the most important thing" that she does in her beauty routine. Her eyelashes need to be curled or else they "would go straight down."

LolaVie Perfecting Leave-In

This "favorite" leave-in conditioner is beloved by Cox. "I really — and this is not because she's my friend — but I love LolaVie's." (LolaVie is owned by actress and real-life friend Jennifer Aniston.)

Per the brand, this product aims to reduces frizz and protect hair from heat damage thanks to ingredients including chia seeds and bamboo extract.

LolaVie Lightweight Hair Oil

This leave-in hair oil also comes highly recommended by Cox. Its plant-based ingredients are all-natural, according to the brand, and targets common hair issues like frizz and dullness.
