Ingredients

Burgers
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons steak or barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 slices American or cheddar cheese
  • hamburger buns, split
Sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup garlic aioli
  • 2 tablespoons sweet relish
  • 1 tablespoon honey mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Preparation

For the burgers:

1.

Preheat flattop griddle.

2.

Mix beef, garlic, steak or barbecue sauce, salt and pepper together in mixing bowl.

3.

Portion the beef mixture into 4-ounce patties and spread them out on the flattop griddle. Use the spatula to smash down the meat.

4.

Cook the patties for 3 minutes, then flip them over.

5.

Top each patty with cheese and cook for an additional 3 minutes. Check the temperature by inserting the cooking thermometer into the center of a patty. Once the meat has reached an internal temperature of 160 F, remove the patties from the griddle and place on the serving tray.

6.

Toast the buns on the flattop griddle split side down.

For the sauce:

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Whisk until completely mixed.

To serve:

Spread the sauce on the toasted bun. Put the burger in the bun and enjoy!
