When is Dunkin’ bringing back pumpkin spice?

Pumpkin Swirl is back with a vengeance.

Pumpkin spice season is officially back at Dunkin’.

On Aug. 16, the coffee-and-doughnut chain announced its fall menu, after teasing its return on Aug. 8 with a coy Instagram video of a man dropping a piece of paper that reads, “Pumpkin is back 8/16.”

“how you gonna just drop news like that?!” Dunkin’ captioned the video.

The theme of this year’s menu is: If it ain't broke, don’t fix it — meaning that it looks nearly identical to last year’s offerings. Worth noting is that the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew has not returned, but that Pumpkin Swirl can be added to their favorite coffee drink.

What drinks are on the menu?

  •  Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte: This returning latte features notes of pumpkin, vanilla and fall spices and is blended with espresso and milk, then topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and a dusting of cinnamon sugar.
  • Nutty Pumpkin Coffee: Also returning, this drink combines Dunkin’s Original Blend Iced or Hot Coffee with pumpkin, cream and a touch of hazelnut.
  • Pumpkin Swirl: The foundation of its fall beverage line-up, Dunkin’ describes this as its “most sought-after flavor.” This year, guests can customize their drinks by adding it to hot or iced coffee, espresso drinks, cold brew or frozen coffee.

What foods are on the menu?

  • Pumpkin Cake Donut and Munchkins Donut Hole Treats: Classic and “glazed to perfection,” according to the company.
  • Pumpkin Muffin: Featuring notes of pumpkin and sweet spices, topped with streusel and a drizzle of white icing.
  • Maple Sugar Bacon: Guests can enjoy this sweet and spicy bacon two ways — on its own as Maple Sugar Snackin’ Bacon or paired with fried egg and white cheddar cheese on a toasted croissant known as the Maple Sugar Bacon Breakfast Sandwich.

What deals are available?

Even though fall doesn’t officially start until Sept. 23, several brands are starting the fall frenzy early.

Krispy Kreme announced the release of its pumpkin spice doughnut menu on Aug. 7, and 7-Eleven released its line of pumpkin spice beverages on Aug. 1.

Starbucks has been tight-lipped about the annual pumpkin-spiceification of its menu, not even dilvulging the date, but popular snack-spotting Instagram account, @markie_devo, says it will be Aug. 24.

“We’re currently enjoying Starbucks new summer sip, the Frozen Lemonade Starbucks Refreshers® and are not quite ready to welcome fall yet!” a Starbucks spokesperson told TODAY.com in an emailed statement. In fact, the coffee chain is still so committed to summer, it just came out with three new summer drink “remixes.”
