Survivor: Train derailment ‘tossed me like a rag doll’

Dr. Joel Zaritsky, one of the survivors of a train derailment in the Bronx, N.Y., that killed four and injured dozens early Sunday morning, says the impact threw him to the other side of the train car he was in. NBC’s Tamron Hall reports.

>>> i spoke this morning with one of the survivors that said the crash was like a slow motion movie. he was heading to new york for a dentist convention when the train jumped the tracks. he escaped with cuts and bruises.

>>> the train lifted to the left side and started to roll back and forth. it was tossing me like a rag doll and i ended from the right side of the train to the left side smashed into the side wall.

>> he said his daughter who appeared with him this morning decided not to join him on the train trip because she was too busy getting ready for college.
