Clint Eastwood tapes Super Pac ad for Romney

As Mitt Romney embarks on a campaign blitz in key battleground states, Clint Eastwood is promoting the GOP candidate in a new Super Pac ad. NBC’s Peter Alexander reports.

>>> governor romney is on a campaign blitz of his own making stops in three states on wednesday. peter alexander is traveling with the romney campaign, finding himself in cincinnati, ohio, this morning. peter, good morning to you.

>> reporter: a vsavannah, good morning to you. mitt romney 's going to focus on a single state, that is right here in ohio. yesterday in iowa, he was particularly optimistic declaring to the audience there that we are going to win. he's been sort of shifting his target audience focusing on the potential impact of president obama having four more years on families, trying to court women voters. also clint eastwood who got mixed reviews for that conversation with an empty chair during the republican convention last month is back promoting the candidacy in a new ad paid by bush strategist karl rove 's super pac. take a look.

>> someone doesn't get the job done, you've got to hold them accountable. obama's second term would be a rerun of the first and our country couldn't survive that. we need someone to turn it around fast and that man is mitt romney . there's not a lot of time left and the future of our country is at stake.

>> reporter: and despite heavy criticism from the obama campaign about comments, controversial comments made by republican senate candidate richard murdoch of indiana about rape and abortion, governo romney largely ignored that topic yesterday. savannah, his campaign says he do not share those beliefs, he disagrees with them, but said it will not ask murdoch to pull ads that endorse him.
