00:57

During a 10K race in Maine, Jesse Orach was in the lead and less than 100 yards from the finish line when he collapsed from heat stroke. According to The Portland Press Herald, Robert Gomez, Orach’s top competitor, helped him to his feet and they ran to the finish line together. “I felt the need to get Jesse to cross the finish line before me because I believe he deserved to win,” Robert Gomez said in a statement to TODAY.
