Oh, how we hate when spring showers turn a fresh outfit into a soggy mess. It doesn’t look good and it sure doesn’t feel great, either. Squish, squish we go in those wet dress shoes.

To help us head off rainy day fashion disasters, Lori Bergamotto, style director of Good Housekeeping magazine, stopped by TODAY Wednesday with just the clothing and accessories needed for a perfect, splash-proof style.

Whether you’re walking the dog, heading to work or stomping through the puddles with kids, this gear will help you face the next deluge of raindrops without ruining the day.

“It is all about fashion and function in the rain,” Bergamotto told Tamron Hall and Dylan Dreyer.

Cool casual

When it’s time to go out, neither you — nor your pooch — should have to get soaked.

“There’s no reason your dog shouldn’t be protected,” Bergamotto said.

On the dog mom, try this dalmatian-print waterproof jacket and waterproof ballet flats.

Totes Puddle Flats,, $18.99

Bike riders

It seems like everybody’s biking these days. If you’re out and about in the rain, try this waterproof windbreaker and white jeans that have been specially treated to resist water (or stains, for that matter). For your bike, there’s a fashionable seat cover to help keep your own seat dry.
