These days, saving money is top of mind for many households, and warehouse clubs have become a popular way to do just that — offering members-only products and discounted prices across groceries, fashion, home goods and more.
And Sam’s Club just announced a new perk: Starting Oct. 20, Sam’s Club Plus members can now enjoy the benefits of another major membership program, Walmart+, at no additional charge. Priced at $120 per year, the combined offering allows members to access all of the benefits of both programs, including gas discounts, free shipping on eligible orders, streaming bundles, pharmacy savings and more.
Sam’s Club Plus Membership with Walmart+
Shoppers who are already paying for Sam’s Club Plus and Walmart+ can save $98 a year by linking their accounts, according to a press release. Both memberships will continue to have their own separate apps and shopping experiences, per an FAQ page with more details.
Sam’s Club Plus members not already subscribed to Walmart+ can activate the latter membership at no extra charge, while those subscribed only to Walmart+ (which costs $98 annually) will need to upgrade to Walmart+ with Sam’s Club Plus for an extra $22 per year to take advantage of both programs.
The new offering applies only to Sam’s Club Plus, which is the retailer’s premium membership tier. Sam’s Club’s standard membership, which costs $60 per year, remains unchanged and will not include access to Walmart+.

You can score a classic Sam’s Club membership for $60 for the whole year. With a membership, shoppers gain access to the retailer’s selection of products in stores and online, as well as Sam’s Club membership perks such as exclusive sale events, fuel discounts and cash back.

Same-day delivery: Want to skip a trip to the store? Sam's Club members can order eligible items by 1 p.m. local time and have them delivered to their doorstep that same day. After placing your order online or in the Sam's Club app, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link to track progress in real time. Note that there’s currently a $12 fee per order for Club members for this service and no order minimum.
Curbside pickup: Sam's Club members can take advantage of free curbside pickup for orders of $50 or more. (Orders under $50 incur a $4 fee.)
'Scan & Go' shopping: Members who prefer to shop in person can take advantage of the retailer's Scan & Go feature to speed up their trip. Once you've arrived at your local store, open the Sam’s Club app and click the Scan & Go icon at the bottom of your screen. Each time you grab an item to purchase, scan the barcode to add it to your virtual cart as well. When you’re finished shopping, slide the bar to pay in the app. This way, you can skip checkout lines and head to the door with your digital receipt. Interested in an item that's out of stock, or too big to lug home? You can scan the barcode while you're in the store and ship it to your home.
Access to members-only sale events: Sam's Club regularly runs "Instant Savings" events with exclusive discounts for members.
Fuel discounts: Save when you fill up your car at select locations.
Complimentary membership: Once you join, a household member can sign up for free. That's two memberships for half the price of one!
Sam's Club Plus membership benefits
Sam’s Club offers a premium Plus membership for $120 per year. Below are some of the additional perks that set this bundle apart from the classic membership.
Walmart+: New to the Plus membership tier, shoppers can now access all of the benefits and perks of Walmart+, which include gas savings at participating Walmart, Exxon & Mobil, Murphy USA and Citgo stations, a video streaming service (Peacock or Paramount+), free shipping and delivery on eligible Walmart orders, Walmart cash rewards, prescription delivery, free online pet care and more.
Free shipping and curbside pickup: Free shipping for Plus members is available on qualifying orders of $50 or more. They can also take advantage of free curbside pickup. A staff member will even load your car for you!
Same-day delivery: Plus members previously paid $8 for same-day delivery, but this service is now free for Plus members on qualifying orders of $50 or more.
Cash back: Plus members can earn 2 percent cash back on qualifying purchases (with a cap at $750 per year).
Pharmacy and optical savings: Looking to save on prescriptions? Sam's Club says it offers Plus members more than 600 generic brands starting at $4. Plus members can also score free shipping on contact lenses and save 20% on a new pair of eyeglasses.
