Big news for people who lose stuff: Apple unveiled its new AirTag today.
Much like its predecessor, the latest iteration of the tech accessory can be tracked with Apple's Find My app — but the new Apple AirTag has a louder speaker and an expanded range to make it "even easier to locate," per the brand.

The new and improved AirTag is available now for purchase on Apple's website. It retails for the same price as the original version: $29 for a single AirTag and $99 for a pack of four.
Key new AirTag features
The key differences between the new AirTag and its forerunner are the internal upgrades.
To make the tracker easier to locate than ever before, the new Apple AirTag is powered by an upgraded Bluetooth chip and a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, which is the same one that's found in Apple's recent iPhone 17 lineup, Apple Watch Ultra3 and more of its latest devices. Per the brand, users can be guided from up to 50% farther away than the previous generation with a Precision Finding feature that actually points users in the direction of their lost item with haptic, visual and audio feedback.
Apple says its new AirTag is also 50% louder than the previous generation, meaning users should be able to hear an AirTag from up to two times farther than before. So, whether your misplaced item is buried deep between the couch cushions or concealed among the contents of your bag, you'll be able to hear and find it much more easily.
You won’t have to ditch the AirTag accessories you already own if you choose to upgrade to the latest generation — since it retains its form factor, it will still be compatible with existing AirTag accessories.
