Want something a step up from your average tee? Post calls this blouse “a great little elevated staple to wake up blue jeans, white jeans, pants, skirts and more, or layer under a strappy dress.”
“How adorable is this little puff sleeve, 100% cotton poplin-style shirt?” Post implores. “I mean, look how chic this little top is... I love that it’s cropped, but it’s not too cropped, which is key.”
For a collared alternative, Post recommends this crisp, puff-sleeved option. She layers hers under a denim dress and pairs it with jeans for two different looks.
“I love it — it’s such a great layering piece, it’s such a great versatile piece... I just put it under my favorite little denim dress,” Post shares. “And look: You can also dress it up!” Post adds, elevating the blouse with a smart pair of jeans and a few sharp accessories.
“I mean, linen is such a huge trend right now. Not only does it look cool, but it keeps you cool: It is breathable and this is 100% cotton,” Post reports. “And talk about versatile... I just tied it a little bit at the waist, and I mean, suddenly this is perfect for a summer pool party or dinner party... added a little heel, a little clutch and we are ready to go.”
Post demonstrates the piece’s versatility by dressing the same top in different ways. “Here I’m just wearing it open over my favorite tank,” Post explains. “It’s so easy just to throw on and go, but you can dress this up, dress it down, wear it as a cover up... The possibilities are endless.”
“Get ready for a little western chic with this great lightweight denim chambray shirt. What I think is so fun about this shirt is while you can wear it as a shirt, you can also wear it as a lightweight jacket, so you can wear it all year long,” Post points out. “It’s actually made to tie at the waist — so easy and also flattering. It shows off a little bit of your shape.”
When it comes to styling it, Post says you really can’t go wrong. “I paired it with an oversized gingham midi skirt, but wear it with your jeans or a jean skirt... You know, denim-on-denim is such a hot trend — wear it with white jeans, wear it with shorts, you name it.”

“I am a sucker for this classic and wear it all year long,” Post says. “I have a few of these and love each one for its own attributes.”
For a more relaxed fit and some solid color options, Post also likes this full-sleeved top.
“This is another one of my all-time favorite tops. This is a classic Breton striped tee, from Amazon Essentials, and I have to tell you, it is such high quality,” Post swears. “I mean, this fabric, it’s 100% cotton. It’s got that great boatneck silhouette, and I have to tell you, this is one of my closet secret weapons. Anything you pair it with, you’ll look chic.”
Another chic option, this tee combines a 3/4 sleeve with a relaxed fit and a flattering boat neckline. We love that this staple feels summery and nautical with a white stripe, but that it’s versatile enough to remain in your outfit rotation through the colder seasons.
“Wear this with everything and always look pulled together,” Post muses. “I love a ‘Papa Don’t Preach’ look with high-waisted straight jeans and a ballet flat.”
Everybody needs a great tank, and this one is one of Post’s favorites.
“I have it in three different colors and I think it’s so flattering. I love the cutaway design here — it really makes your arms look good,” Post promises. “It’s got a great material with some wonderful stretch, it’s ribbed and you can wear it with a fun pair of pants, you can dress it up, you can dress it down — I [even] wear it to work out! You will find lots and lots of uses for this very affordable little top.”
“This is another one of my favorite tanks. You may say, it looks exactly the same as the last, but this one has a secret solution: It’s got a built-in bra, and it is so comfortable,” Post reveals. “So you don’t have to fool with all those bra straps. It’s stretchy, it’s soft, it’s flattering, and it also comes in tons of colors.”
This pop-over shirt with a mini stripe and collar is super wearable, effortlessly dressing up a pair of white pants. Post cuffs the sleeves on hers to give it that little bit of extra polish.
“It’s almost like a stretch poplin and it’s got such great elevated details,” Post raves. “It’s tunic-length, which makes it so easy to wear and [it’s] flattering. I love these great collars and cuffs, and it is so lightweight, you just want to pop it on.”
