Host of New York Live Sara Gore is joining the TODAY team to cook up game-day recipes and mix up sports-inspired cocktails for Super Bowl Sunday. She shows us how to make barbecue pulled pork sliders and a citrusy soda cocktail for the Kansas City Chiefs and creamy clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and a spiced cable car cocktail for the San Francisco 49ers.

A Kansas City-style barbecue has a little sweet, a little heat and a little smoke. Think molasses, chili, brown sugar and a little liquid smoke. I made some Kansas City style pulled pork sliders with creamy slaw and pickled jalapeño onions. What I love about pulled pork is that it makes a nice hefty quantity, it doesn’t take a lot of prep, and you can use it in so many different ways. Don’t want to do sliders? Try pulled pork nachos instead or loading it on top of a baked potato.

I love this recipe because it's the ultimate game-day, stick-to-your-ribs kind of comfort food you're looking for on a cold day. It's juicy, full of flavor and oh-so-messy in the best way possible! It's got everything you need: It's meaty, sweet, spicy, briny and creamy. It's a meal on a bun. What more could you want?

Clam chowder in a sourdough bowl is a must at the Fisherman’s Wharf in SF. I love this recipe because its hardy, creamy, delicious and the bread is so good after its soaked up all that yummy soup! It's a perfect lunch all alone or dinner served with a side salad.

Cable Car Cocktail

The Cable Car (an offshoot of the sidecar) was invented in SF in 1996. This citrusy spiced cocktail was inspired by San Francisco. It's fun, bright and bold just like the city itself.

Kansas City Ice Water Cocktail

Something I learned about Kansas City in doing my research: Their "ice water" is not at all what it seems. It's a cocktail made of vodka, gin, lime juice and lemon-lime soda. I hear these can be dangerous, so you might want to alternate between KC ice water and actual ice water. It’s a long game.

This classic KC drink is incredibly refreshing. The citrus soda, zesty lime juice and fragrant spirits are sure to please your palate as well as help you keep your cool.
