>> reporter: 100 of the 166 detainees are now on the hunger strike , 23 being force fed . the military says it is a legally approved procedure necessary to save lives. president obama pledged to renew his efforts to shut down the prison.

>> reporter: but a top republican said sunday the white house has yet to detail what it would do with the detainees.
>> there's been no coherent plan presented to the congress.
>> reporter: military officials rushed medical personnel to the prison and moved detainees from communal quarters into solitary confinement just as they were held when guan tan know was opened 11 years ago.
