>>> the buzz about a certain accessory worn at the grammys . faith hill is the talk of the grammys . not for her singing, her dress or her date, husband tim mcgraw , but for her braces.

>> here are the nominees for song of the year.

>> twitter lit up with support of her dental wear. one fan writing, if faith hill can rock braces at the grammys , so can i. in fact, the 45-year-old hill has had braces for several months, first showing them off at the country music awards in november. she explained why she's wearing braces as an adult to country station knix.

>> how are you doing with braces?

>> oh, well, i'm getting used to them. i just had to -- i didn't wear my retainer. kids, wear your retainer. i had braces when i was a kid. it's not too bad.

>> if anybody can pull off braces and look good doing it, faith hill .

>> which you do, by the way.

>> oh, thank you.

>> she looks great and is also inspiring to others who may be reluctant to take the plunge and get their teeth fixed. faith hill , international pop star whose image is based on her being beautiful and perfect is willing to do this, then the rest of us mere mortals can do it, too.

>> dr. jennifer joblo, good morning.

>> good morning.

>> good news for you.

>> she's a brave woman for doing that.

>> is this something you see a lot where adults are having to go back and get braces again?

>> yes. teeth shift because of our hormonal changes, architecture and even grinding at night, that can happen. when you don't wear your retain retainer as a kid, and a lot of adults. five to ten years an enormous shift to adult orthodoesn'tist.

>> you can do the fixed braces which are more traditional, that's what faith hill has, or you can do invisalign, which are removable.

>> it's clear. it's basically invisible. you can take it out when you're eating or drinking. food doesn't get caught in it. not everybody is a candidate for it. most adults, if they are candidates for invisalign, will move toward that. they stain, sometimes your breath can change and your speech can change as well.

>> is one more expensive than the other?

>> they kind of run about the same, to tell you the truth. most adults -- you didn't see braces about 20 years ago, because invisalign wasn't an option. faith hill is gorgeous and can get away with it. most of us probably aren't confident to wear fixed brackets.

>> how do you know you're in a category when you need to think about braces as opposed to basic teeth shifting that can happen?

>> basic teeth shifting, especially with women in their late 30s, 40s, 50s, it's usually on the lower teeth. they start to cross over . that's actually going to affect your health. because plaque and everything is going to get stuck in there. it's very hard to clean. so that can cause gum disease . it's very important to talk to your dentist about it.

>> call the dentist. do they still hurt?

>> no, they don't.

>> really?

>> you can take them in and out, go to a party, speech or anything.

>> dr. jennifer jablow, thank you
