Full confession: I love wearing slippers — but maybe too much. When I slide my foot into shearling-lined house shoes, my entire body relaxes and says, "ahhhh." And that’s a problem! They’re so comfortable that I frequently forget that I’m wearing them. The next thing I know, I’m at the supermarket, out with friends, and — gasp — in a work meeting wearing them. Thankfully, I found these Dearfoams Fireside Sydney Shearling Scuff Slippers and love them so much that I have two pairs.
Luckily for me, they look like uber-expensive suede mules. I own a pale pink set that goes great with skinny jeans and a dressier navy blue pair that I wear with wide-leg jeans. Yes, I know they’re slippers. I understand this. But they look chic to me and they go with many things in my closet; I wear them everywhere — I’m even wearing them now as I write this article.

Designed like a mule or clog, this slipper has a water-resistant suede upper with a shearling cuff. The bottom is a lightweight EVA indoor/outdoor sole. It’s sturdy, and the outsole has a wave pattern that helps prevent slipping when walking on concrete. I have literally walked miles through New York City wearing them.

My experience with the Dearfoams Fireside Sydney Scuff Slipper
Unlike some mules or slippers, they don’t make that annoying "flooping" noise when you walk in them. They’re very quiet. It’s probably one of the reasons why I forget to switch out of them and wear regular shoes when I leave home.
When I am outside trekking around in my Dearfoams slippers, my feet are toasty warm. They’re like a mule version of the iconic shearling boot. You know, the one that never goes out of style.
As I mentioned, the inside, top, and bottom are lined in plush, soft shearling. Shearling has antimicrobial properties. No matter how often you wear them, or whether or not you wear them with socks, they don’t absorb odor — ever. My original pink pair is over a year old but smells like new. The antimicrobial properties of shearling are fabulous if you have sweaty feet like I do.
What I like
The quality is always consistent
Another thing I like about the Dearfoams slippers is that they don’t lose shape. I’ve stuffed them in suitcases, and they survived travel. I’ve accidentally placed furniture on top of them, and they bounce back, looking like they’ve never been squashed.
If you compare my older pink Dearfoams slippers to my newer navy pair, the only difference is that the pink is a bit dirty — I’m a klutz and spill things.

They've become my go-to footwear
I was never a slipper or house shoe wearer. My preference when at home was either to go barefoot or wear socks. When I moved into my current apartment, things changed. I now have hardwood floors and I never realized how cold they can be in the morning. Getting out of bed and stepping onto a cold floor, well, it really woke me up! Now that I have the Dearfoams slippers, everything changed.
Since I started wearing these delightful shearling shoes/slippers hybrid, I wear them all year round. They’re cozy, they’re comfy and they’re cute. I think that if they came in a kitten heel, I’d even wear them with a dress.
What to consider
The Dearfoams slippers come in 22 different colors, so if you’re picky, there’s a lot of options that could match your color preference. There’s even a metallic pair that I’m eyeing, and I just noticed that they have a few models with animal print shearling trim — I’ll probably be adding a few more pairs to my collection soon.
One thing to note: Although I did not have this issue, some customers say the slipper runs a bit small. If you're hesitant about sizing, size up half a size.
Who are the Dearfoams Fireside Sydney Scuff Slipper best for?
If you really value a comfortable shoe, these will become your new go-to pick. And at under $100, they're a great pick if you want a quality slipper without having to splurge. They're certainly a great bang for your buck.
