Toe socks are beneficial for those who run because they "reduce chaffing in toes and contracture problems like hammertoes," says podiatrist Dr. Donald Pelto. Aside from reducing friction and blisters, some can benefit from the extra separation during high-intensity workouts.

"Exercises that require more balance, such as yoga, will also benefit from toe socks. People with forefoot issues, such as bunions or hammertoes, can also benefit from the use of toe socks," says board-certified foot and ankle surgeon Dr. Saylee Tulpule.
