Elizabeth Hurley: My son's 'sweet' now, but teen trouble is on the way

She's a mom with questionable motives on "The Royals," but in real life the actress is best pals with her son.

Family matters are messy on E!'s "The Royals," which stars Elizabeth Hurley. But in real life, Hurley and her 13-year-old son Damian are still best pals ... though she isn't sure that'll last.

"He's still sweet," she told TODAY's Matt Lauer Tuesday. "He's definitely going through puberty; his voice has dropped; he's taller than me now."

But she added, she expects he'll become more of a surly teenager any time. "I'm waiting for the moment where he goes, 'Mom, get off!' [But] he still loves mummy today."

In general, Hurley has taken her son's aging — and her own (she's 50) — in stride. But maybe she also has a little more growing up to do. "I don't really feel mature enough yet, myself," she chuckled. "I feel like I need to step up and be more grown up."

So how emotionally old does she feel? "About 14," she grinned. "Same as my son!"

No wonder they get on so well!

The second season of "The Royals" premieres Nov. 15 at 10 p.m. on E!.
