From assembling nets to working in processing plants, women have long played a vital role in the global seafood market, but relatively few fish commercially. Chef and host Elena Besser travels coast to coast to meet two fisherwomen making waves in the industry. In Washington state, Elena meets Ashley Lewis, a member of the Quinault Indian Nation, seasoned fishing guide and outdoor influencer to fish for trout and salmon. In Maine, she catches up with Sadie Samuels, the only female lobster boat captain working out of Rockport Harbor, to bait traps and make succulent lobster rolls.July 11, 2023
