Caught on camera: California snowboarder triggers avalanche

00:42

A California snowboarder could be facing criminal charges, for his role in triggering an avalanche. 29-year-old Christian Mares was wearing a body camera when he snowboarded down a steep run at Sugar Bowl Resort in northern California. The video shows Mares being buried under the cascading snow, fighting his way to the surface. Resort officials say Mares was in a "very active avalanche area" which was closed to the public.
