Obama commutes sentences of 111 nonviolent drug offenders
On Tuesday, President Obama commuted the sentences of 111 federal inmates who were convicted of nonviolent drug offenses. The White House says the inmates received “unduly harsh sentences” and that all have taken steps toward rehabilitation. This brings the number of commutations during Obama’s presidency to 673, more than the past 10 presidents combined.
