The hospital can be a very scary place for a sick kid. When Cindy Kerr’s son Ryan was hospitalized for cancer treatments, she wanted to bring a touch of home to his room and a smile to his face. To counter the cold, clinical look of his hospital bed, she created a special pillow case covered in images of hamburgers – Ryan’s favorite food. That simple sewing project launched her mission to help thousands of kids cope with cancer. For her work, Cindy was honored as a Woman of Worth by L’Oreal Paris.
