Brie Larson is busting out her best dinnerware as she prepares to launch her first-ever cookbook.
The Oscar-winner, 35, teased on Instagram earlier this month that her fans could expect a big reveal about her next project. A day later, she announced that she will soon release a cookbook, called “Party People,” that is co-written by former Milk Bar culinary director Courtney McBroom.
"Party People: A Cookbook for Creative Celebrations" by Brie Larson and Courtney McBroom
It seems Larson was inspired by one of her recent roles — playing scientist and cook Elizabeth Zott in the Apple TV+ series “Lessons in Chemistry” — as the actor will show off her cooking skills “with 100 creative recipes and endless ideas for weird and wacky parties,” according to a press release from publisher Penguin Random House. McBroom worked as the food consultant on the show.
Larson and McBroom have been friends for years after building a connection over their love for food, the press release said. The two have also thrown a few parties together featuring delicious food. So, they decided to combine two of their favorite pastimes and write a cookbook.
“They wrote Party People to help you create meaningful connections with the ones you love, whether that’s with family, friends, or yourself,” said the release. “And with recipes like Old Pal cocktails, Cheesy Jenga Bread, and Dueling Roast Chickens, they have you covered.”
Penguin Random House describes the collaboration as “an entertaining cookbook” that will also include party tips and menu ideas.
“They give you the tools to spark a new dining revolution in your home, one where connection takes center stage and entertaining is an afterthought,” the release added.
Larson celebrated the announcement of her cookbook on Instagram in a joint post with McBroom.
She posted a video that shows her and McBroom pretending to wake up the morning after a wild party. The two then find Larson’s phone and film a clip announcing that they made a book “about entertaining and hosting that is actually fun.” Larson grabs the book and reveals the cover, which shows the duo dressed to the nines and toasting their wine glasses while seated at a table filled with appetizers and other tasty treats.
At the end of the clip, they encourage fans to preorder the book before McBroom launches a confetti popper.
“IT’S HERE,” Larson cheered in the caption. “We wrote a cookbook! PARTY PEOPLE (@partypeople) is for anyone who loves to host, eat, gather, and maybe forget to film it all.”
She continued, “It’s full of recipes we actually make, stories from our kitchen, and tips to make hosting feel less overwhelming (and more delicious).”
“Party People” is set to release in Fall 2025.
