Ingredients
- 2 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire or soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 cup dry red wine or water
- 1/4 cup wine or rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt and black pepper
- 2 pound boneless chicken thighs or breasts
Preparation
Baking Directions:
Start a charcoal or wood fire, or preheat a gas grill or broiler (the rack should be about four inches from the heat source).
Combine all ingredients except chicken in a small saucepan and cook over medium-low heat (or you can use a microwave), stirring, for about 10 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
Store, refrigerated, for up to a week.
Thread the chicken onto skewers without crowding.
Grill or broil until browned all over and cooked through, a total of about 10 minutes.
Start basting with the barbecue sauce during the last 3 or 4 minutes of cooking.
