Volvo to introduce digital key technology: Phones will start, unlock cars

Volvo wants to replace car keys with smartphones. According to the automaker, Bluetooth-enabled smartphones could become digital keys, eliminating the need for a physical key. The smartphone would be able to not only start the car, but also unlock the doors and trunk. A limited number of cars will be equipped with the new digital key technology in 2017.Feb. 24, 2016
