Jeff Sessions: Trump ‘made a strong statement’ about Charlottesville violence
Attorney General Jeff Sessions tells TODAY that President Trump “made a very strong statement that directly contradicted the ideology of hatred and violence” in reaction to deadly violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, despite not condemning white supremacists specifically. He adds, “I’m sure he’ll be talking about it again.” Regarding Trump’s criticism of himself, Sessions says, “He has a right to scold his cabinet members if he’s not happy with them.”
