Move over "Downton Abbey", there's a new period piece fascinating fashionistas (and Pinterest boards): director Baz Luhrmann's upcoming "Great Gatsby" movie has couture designers and mass retailers releasing collections featuring 1920's signature details, such as fringes, drop-waists, sequins and art deco-inspired jewelry. No doubt they were likely somewhat inspired by the film's gorgeous, envy-inducing outfits (which did not go to waste on Leonardo DiCaprio or Carey Mulligan).
Even Katy Perry put her rainbow-colored wardrobe on hold this week to don a slinky satin Nolan Miller gown, complete with the era's standard long pearl necklace, cropped 'do and detailed headband:
