2009 CMT Awards

Former 'American Idol' contestant Kellie Pickler and 'Idol' judge Randy Jackson present an award at the Country Music Television Awards in Nashville, Tenn. Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Pickler was nominated for female video of the year for her song "Don't You Know You're Beautiful," but lost out to Taylor Swift's "Love Story."

Sugarland's Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles accept the duo of the year award for "All I Want To Do." “Thank you for following us wherever we’ve been going,” Bush said of the soulful song and video, which features singer Jennifer Nettles on a surfboard.

Brad Paisley performs his hit song "Then," adding bluesy guitar solos. Paisley won male video of the year for his song, "Waitin' on a Woman."

Taylor Swift brought out a stage full of cheerleaders for “You Belong With Me.” Swift took home the award for female video of the year and video of the year for her song, "Love Story."

Joey Martin Feek and Rory Lee Feek of Joey & Rory perform during the CMT awards. Their video director, Peter Zavadil, was one of the nominees for director of the year.

Darius Rucker performs his song, "Alright." The former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman has made a comeback as a country star.

Dierks Bentley feels the energy of the crowd at the CMT Awards.

The bands Sugarland and the B-52's perform together at the CMT Awards. Sugarland led all the nominees for the fan-voted awards with five, followed by Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift with four each. They took home the award for duo of the year.

Keith Urban ran up into the stands while performing “Sweet Thing.” Urban was nominated for best male video for his song, but lost out to Brad Paisley.
