Chef notes
This graveyard cake is almost too spooky to eat! Almost. Black cocoa powder gives this chocolate oat flour cake its deep, dark color, while Dutch-process cocoa and a little coffee bring out its rich chocolate flavor. A layer of silky chocolate ganache becomes the perfect canvas for crushed chocolate cookie dirt, cookie tombstones and little meringue ghosts. It's a fun Halloween project for kids and grown-ups alike. And the best part? Underneath that spooky graveyard is a deliciously moist chocolate cake!
