Will Smith and Jon Voight are helping bring an Italian film festival for children to Los Angeles.

The pair announced the Giffoni Hollywood Film Festival on Friday.

It is scheduled to run April 28 through May 1 and will feature more than 20 films geared toward children, the pair said Friday.

“We’re lending our support because of its focus on young people,” Smith said in a statement. “It will provide a forum for young film enthusiasts and open the doors to Hollywood for a new generation.”

The festival’s judges and jury will also be youngsters between the ages of 9 and 17 from the United States and 15 other countries.

“I’ve been working to bring this festival over to Hollywood for years, and I couldn’t be more excited to see it finally taking place,” Voight said.

“The first time I had the privilege of participating in the festival I was captivated by the honesty, passion and energy that the kids bring to the cinematic experience,” he said.
